Who We Help

We offer a safety net to working families who find themselves temporarily unable to secure health care insurance for their children. 10 Kids Insured will provide insurance coverage for up to 12 months. Under certain circumstances, the coverage can be extended beyond 12 months. We also offer assistance to families whose children do not qualify for traditional insurance because of high risk medical conditions.

Referrals

Families seeking help come to us through referrals from local social service agencies, churches, schools and private individuals. 

Community Problem

Compared to children with health
insurance, uninsured children are:

⇒ 13 times more likely to lack a regular doctor

⇒ 3 times more likely to have not seen a doctor in the past year

⇒ 3 times more likely to not get a needed prescription drug

⇒ 5 times more likely to have at least one delayed or unmet health care need. Lack of adequate health care means uninsured kids are at higher risk to miss more school
and experience developmental delays.
