Would it be even better if you could tell how many of them actually clicked your site from that list?

Or even better, what words did they type to get your site to show up in the map?

All these things are possible with a free service from Google called, Google Places.

It’s a bit hard to see, but here’s a chart of the information available through Google Places.

This business showed up almost 7,500 times in one month on the map. They can also see exactly what search words were used to get them to show up on the map.

So where’s the real value? Marketing intelligence!

There are a ton of people out there “Searching” for your service by key word. You now know what those key words are and you can focus on those words in all your advertising efforts, not just on your Website.

Oh, and look at the fact that 57 people clicked the“More info…” link on the map. Which should beg the question….
