Google SEO: What’s New For 2022
Google SEO is currently the most consistent and valuable marketing channel available to every organization. SEO must provide high-quality, trustworthy, authoritative content for brands across all industries. With Google constantly updating its algorithm, it takes a lot of work to make sure websites will rank. There are a few trends you should focus on to stay ahead in 2022.
Google SEO Changes In 2022
Only relevant and reliable information will rank.
You won’t be seeing irrelevant content with misleading titles in Google search results anymore. Unnecessary linking to fake relevance won’t be as effective as it has been in the past. Google has updated its algorithm to be better at recognizing quality content that best answers the query.
E-A-T, or Expertise, Authority, and Trustworthiness have been ranking factors on Google for a few years, but they are more important than ever. It is imperative not only to do your keyword research but to understand the user’s intent when searching for those keywords.
Search results will be personalized based on recent searches.
Google’s algorithm currently provides search topics based on information and activities from all users. In order to improve user experience, Google is working to provide results matched according to individual users’ history of visited pages and frequent queries. This means that in the coming year, results will be tailored to individuals’ interests, similar to how YouTube recommends videos to users.
Snippets will be eliminated.
The snippet for a page is the section that shows a short description and/or images of the search result. Because snippets so frequently contain incomplete or misleading information, Google is doing away with them in 2022.
Voice search will change effective keyword strings.
Up until now, keyword effectiveness has relied on finding the terms that users type into Google, but with voice searches being adopted by more and more users, more queries will be in the form of conversational questions.
Google SEO will recognize related keywords.
Previously, a keyword needed to be included a certain number of times on a page to rank. This will no longer be the case. In fact, doing so may get your page marked as spam. Google’s updated algorithm will now be able to consider synonyms and related words to the keyword and will demote pages that stuff keywords.
