How To Tell If Your SEO Is Working
Search Engine Optimization ( SEO ), is a long-term, slog it out, never ending marketing strategy. It’s something you implement today, work hard at it for months at a time, all with the hope of seeing continuing positive results months and years from now.
That is what SEO is, you can read more details about what is SEO here, but the question we ponder here is…..
“how do you tell months from now if your SEO efforts are actually working?”
Unfortunately, to accurately measure your SEO efforts, you first needed to have a “Base” set of metrics.
Successfully measuring your SEO marketing efforts, means that when you first started your SEO, you knew that your Business Website was ranked somewhere in Google for certain keyword phrases. “Yellow Column Above”
If you have that starting keyword phrase information handy, then anytime from now into the future, you can look at where you currently rank “Green Column Above” for those keyword phrases compared to where you ranked before you started SEO.
If you are continually trending towards the first position in Google every month for your Keyword Phrases, then your SEO efforts “ARE” being successful.
SEO is a long-term, slog it out, never ending marketing strategy that you must “work” every month, otherwise, any results you achieved, will slowly dissipate and you will see the numbers going the opposite direction if you stop doing the SEO monthly work. “Yellow Column Below”.
Have I mentioned that SEO marketing is a long-term, never ending, slog it out activity?
There are certain signals that Google is looking at each time they index your Website that helps them decide where to SEO rank your company. By stopping those signals your Website will slowly move back down in rank in Google.
